2025 Municipal Elections
Since its inception, Bragg Creek Wild has interviewed candidates at all municipal and provincial elections on matters that concern its mission and community. This election cycle is no different.
As part of the 2025 Rocky View County Municipal Election, we asked both Division 1 candidates 10 key questions about themselves, their platforms, and the priorities they want to champion.
We’re excited to share these conversations with you and hear directly from the people running to represent you. Watch, learn, and be informed before you vote on October 20th.

Question 1 — Personal Background
Could you share your background, what you’ve done so far, and how you enjoy spending your free time?”
Question 2 - Development & Tourism
“As development and tourism continue to grow in our area, what is your position on addressing the impacts this brings - such as lower quality of life for residents, including increased traffic, speeding and noise, safety concerns like limited police services, over-tourism, lack in public facilities, wildlife-vehicle collisions and overall, environmental degradation? What have you done so far to address these challenges, and what will you do as councillor to ensure balance between economic development, community well-being and environmental stewardship?”
Question 3 - Land Use & the Area Structure Plan
“The Area Structure Plan for Bragg Creek is underway, and the community has already put forward a vision emphasizing regenerative growth, environmental protection, and balanced development. What is your position on this vision, what have you done so far to support it, and how will you advocate for it at council?”
Question 4. Water & Utilities
“Bragg Creek continues to face water challenges - some residents still have to haul water and sewage, and this year’s rainfall caused system malfunctions. What is your position on solving these utility issues, what actions have you taken so far, and what will you do as councillor to ensure reliable water and wastewater services for the community?”
Question 5 - Seniors Housing & Aging in Place
“The community has been advocating for a seniors’ home for years, with land already donated, but no project has moved forward. What is your position on aging in place in Bragg Creek, what have you done to support this issue, and what will you do as councillor to make progress on seniors housing?”
Question 6 - Emergency Egress
“Emergency egress has been an ongoing concern for Bragg Creek, yet despite studies and consultations, no second egress has been built. What is your position on this issue, what steps have you taken to address it, and what will you do as councillor to ensure progress is made?”
Question 7 - FireSmart & Habitat Concerns
“There is growing pressure to FireSmart by thinning vegetation with little interest in other nature-based solutions. Concerns remain about how this impacts wildlife habitat and the environment. What is your position on current FireSmart practices, what have you done to address these concerns, and what will you do as councillor to ensure that fire safety and environmental stewardship go hand in hand?”
Question 8 - Garbage Bylaw
“Bragg Creek is still without a garbage bylaw, even though one was proposed in 2023 and council directed staff to explore options. What is your position on this issue, what actions have you taken to move it forward, and what will you do as councillor to ensure Bragg Creek gets a garbage bylaw?”
Question 9 - Healthy Community & Environment
“Bragg Creek sits at the intersection of community life and a sensitive natural environment. What is your position on how we can enjoy this area without destroying what makes it so special, what have you done to advocate for both residents and nature, and what will you do as councillor to keep that balance?”
Question 10 - Closing Question
