OUR STORY

BANG….THUD…..SILENCE…. Renée Delorme, the founder of Bragg Creek Wild, witnessed another deer lose its life to a vehicle in front of her home, on what has become known to some Bragg Creek locals as Slaughter Road. In that moment, Renée decided that this life would not be lost in vain.

Bragg Creek Wild was born: a diverse group of individuals with a multitude of interests, expertise and skills, who have come together under a single vision; “A safe and sustainable environment where wildlife and humans co-exist” in order to implement meaningful change.

Bragg Creek Wild advocates for the protection of wildlife and wildlife habitats by preserving connectivity, promoting safe wild animal routes, mitigating displacement, and providing public education to reduce human-wildlife conflict.

The group is working on several projects to increase awareness of the wildlife movement and the potential threats it faces. We are also engaged in connecting with stakeholders on existing and upcoming projects in and around the Greater Bragg Creek area. We aim to positively influence decisions affecting habitat connectivity, habitat degradation as well as problem-solving when innovative solutions are required to maintain that connectivity.

The ultimate goal of this group is to bring creative, forward-thinking solutions that will help us all make a difference.

“The life of an animal is in no way less precious than our own.”
